Urban Nomad Shelter

Urban Nomad Shelter, designed by Cameron McNall and Damon Seeley of Electroland, acts as both a “humanitarian act and as a social provocation.” The neon colored inflatable shelters stand as beacons or plot points as they are scattered across a landscape, commodifying and exhibiting those whom are often neglected. what a fabulous shelter – I think the city of Vancouver should make these available to the homeless. How will these be marketed – they look suitable for all round use – I can imagine camping in one! When will they be on the market…

What a ridiculous idea – the prospect of calling attention to people who are trespassing on private property and somehow elevating them by placing them in flourescent shelters is asinine. Hopefully, they serve to call attention to people the police need to “shoo” away.
