Amazing stuff. As an aside it’s Perceptive Pixel rather than Perspective Pixel - a verbal play on Han’s “sensing screens”.
oops. thanks.

Very amazing and dangit, it’s about time!
I’m an architect - when will this technology hit the mainstream? Will there be a pilot program offered for trial/testing (particularly for my field of work)?
Jeff Han is an amazing promoter. His touch system continues to get press. But the problem is that it only works with rear projection displays and if you notice, in very dark, controlled lighting environments. If you are looking for a real world solution, that works on all types of large displays, take a look at NextWindow (www.nextwindow.com). They have touch screens that can do all that Jeff’s Perspective Pixel product does, but at a way more down to earth price….
Tazmanicumn Nextwindow does NOT have MULTI touch screens!!! you dumb peace of shit!!!! They only have scrappy one touch. This is MULTI touch which is WAY better!!!! tazmaniacumn never talk again, please! Thank you.
Is there a multi-touch sensing technology available for PDAs? Or is FTIR inappropriate as overlay on LCD panels? Thanks
That nextwindow thingy mentioned doesn’t handle multiple pointers at once.
That’s why this is so interesting to see what will they come up with next.
Is there a multi-touch sensing technology available for PDAs?
You’d need rather small hands for such an application to be very beneficial.
I did some due diligence on NextWindow. One of their engineers sent me a visual basic kit which will give you two touch points. He says that because their system only has two camera, you get two touch points. They are planning on a system with four cameras, but that is not a huge priority for them right now.
I think the multi-touch sensing PDA is called the iPhone…..
‘dis’ is remarkably self-assured for someone who can’t spell ‘piece’ and is wrong about nextwindow’s product specifications… i
i dont think that the iphone is a mutlitouch display all round. yes when you are enlarging pics and stuff, then both the fingers work. otherise, on a normal background. its just a single touch display… althought thats very cool in itself…. waiting for the mulitouch to get mainstream…
